From the years when Stewart was still primarily a cook, and this is the one that made the case — the contents run Apples, Pears, Peaches, Berries, Citrus, Vegetables, Nuts, set over engraved fruit. It has aged into a straightforwardly good baking book, which not everything from that shelf managed.
Jacket complete but showing age: the cream ground is tanned and lightly soiled, with edge rubbing and small creases along the top edge and at the corners.
